A myeloma patient named Beth recently emailed:
When I became a myeloma patient, suddenly my family's attention was on me. But after a while, I realized that they have support needs, too! It is very hard for my loved ones to be strong all the time, to support me. We talked about it and I let them know I realize this is a challenge for them, too. And the best part: It helps me to help them! I don't just want to be the object of their emotional support, I want to be needed, too.
I wanted to share this because I am sure others are grappling with the same difficulty.
Thanks, Beth! We're sure your experience will help others.
